Ah! But what about...
Looking for a venue isn't easy, it needs to fulfill everything you have in mind and also feel right. I'd always suggest you gave us a ring or came to see us if you have an questions but not everybody has the time for that. So with that in mind here are some questions and answers people have asked about Misty Eyed Events. If you have more questions then send us an email or a phone call. Remember there's nothing like coming to visit to get a better picture of what we're all about.
Lovely view but doesn't it get windy?
It certainly does have it's moments up here! Generally speaking if it's windy here, it's going to be windy pretty much anywhere. We have carefully planted wind breaks and have a range of shelters to help out. It's only in the late Autumn and Winter months it can be an issue. Generally it's the company you're with that matters more than what the weather is doing!
Do you run a bed and breakfast?
No. But there are plenty of B&B's and camp sites within walking distance. The B&B's tend to be booked quite quickly so make sure you forward plan to avoid dissapointment.
Is the venue ours all day?
Depending on the occasion we like to give you the day before, the event day and the morning after. This means you're not rushing around on the day of the event trying to get things ready or worrying about hangovers to pack down the following day!
Is there full mobile phone coverage?
Seems a strange question but the amount of 'urgent' phone calls you find you need to make setting up an event can be quite surprising! We get full signal on all mobile providers up here.
Can I bring my gran to see the venue before we book it?
Go on then! Grans always have the last say, so we're nice to them!
Are dogs allowed?
Well behaved dogs (and owners!) are allowed, we provide water bowls for them (the dogs not the owners) and dog waste bins. There can be animals in nearby fields so as long as you keep an eye on them and clean up after them it's not a problem.
Am I tied to your caterers and bar?
Absolutely not, if you want to arrange your own catering and bar then that's fine.
Do you charge corkage?
I hate corkage! You spend ages trying to find a nice wine from France to save money and then someone slams a £10 fee on each bottle that's opened. On top of that the buggers always open as many as they can whether anyone wants more or not. So no we don't, which means you can go and spend more on the wine!
